Notes

.Most customers orient the micro/nano‑structured surface toward the light source. Although this increases the back focal length (BFL), it provides better protection for the structured area. When a lower system height is required and the Metalens is protected by surrounding structures, the surface may also be oriented away from the light source. The output spot pattern is identical for both orientations.

.Whether the overall spot pattern is random depends on the lattice replication layout and the emitting aperture layout. If either layout is offset arrangement, the overall spot pattern is effectively random; only when both are periodic will the overall spot pattern be periodic.

.The stated angle is a theoretical value calculated assuming a source divergence of 20° and M2 factor of 2.5, and is for reference only.

.This size is not the geometric die size of the light source; it refers to the minimum rectangular envelope that covers all emitting apertures. If the actual emitting aperture size of the customer’s light source deviates significantly from the recommended value, the output spot array may exhibit gaps or overlaps. See Appendix 1 for details.

.FOI is related to the size of the emitting aperture.

.The number of emitting aperture may vary; the total number of output spots will change accordingly.
