Product Overview #
MMPT044-940 is a solid-state time-of-flight camera product. The product is based on the continuous wave time -of-flight (cwToF) principle, and with relevant optical and electrical design to achieve wide angle and high-accuracy distance measurement. It supports UART and USB2.0 communication and can output depth images and infrared grayscale images.

UART Communication #
The MMPT044-940 time-of-flight camera supports 3.3V level serial port (UART) communication. Users can connect the external system and this product together through the physical interface on the product, and communicate in accordance with the system’s communication protocol to obtain real-time scanning depth distance information, device information, device status, and set the device working mode, etc. The communication parameters are as follows:

Object Recognition #
Target Object: Recognition of Holes #
When the target object has a hole, the product will identify different distance information for the area with a hole and the area without a hole. For the area with a hole, the product will calculate the actual distance information of the object; for the area without a hole, because the returned light will travel a shorter distance, the product will calculate a nearer distance information.
Target Object: Recognition of Size #
By identifying the distance data of the target object, the product will upload the distance information of all objects in the entire image to the monitoring computer. The host computer will analyze the distance data to obtain the size information of the object.
