GUI Installation #

USB driver isn’t required for the module to connect. MMPT044-940 time-of-flight camera has plug-and-play compatibility. Please request the GUI installation file by contacting us. After installation and device connection, double-click the icon to open the GUI Interface.

GUI Interface #

Operating Instructions:

  • Connect the module to the PC using the USB adapter kit.
  • Launch the software by double-clicking the corresponding icon on the PC.
    • If the USB connection is successful, the Graphical User Interface (GUI) will automatically launch.

Since the manufacturer has already completed the calibration, no additional action is required from the user. The module is ready for immediate use.

The GUI provides a parameter-setting area, which is divided into several sections:

1) Camera Setup

  • Modulation Channel: Configure the modulation frequency, fine-tuned around 20 MHz.
  • Interference Detection: Enable or disable interference detection (if more than two modules are in use, modulated lasers may interfere with each other).
  • Mode: Set the mode; only “Wide Field Data” mode is available for this device.
  • FPS (Frames Per Second): Configure the frame rate to limit the number of acquisitions per second.

2) Integration Time

  • Automatic Integration Time (3D): Enable or disable automatic integration time.
  • Integration Time: Manually set the integration time, with a maximum value of 1600 µs.

3) Distance Settings

  • Offset: Adjust the offset value to fine-tune the distance measurement range based on actual use.
  • Distance Range: Set the distance measurement range (up to 4 meters).

4) ROI (Region of Interest)

  • Define a specific area of interest for measurement and data collection, instead of collecting data from all pixels.

5) Image Settings

  • Configure whether to flip the image horizontally (mirror), flip it vertically (upside down), or display a grayscale amplitude image.

Precautions #

When using the MMPT044-940 module, users should consider the following safety and operational guidelines:

  • Avoid strong vibration or impact, so as not to damage the internal structure of the equipment.
  • Avoid using in harsh environmental conditions, such as high temperature, exposure to the sun, moisture, etc.
  • Ensure the stability of the power supply voltage, avoid the impact of voltage fluctuations on the equipment.
  • Before operating the equipment, please read the product manual in detail to understand the relevant operating specifications and precautions.
  • In the process of using, if you encounter any problems, please contact professional technicians or suppliers for consultation and solution.

Common Issues and Solutions #

When using the MMPT044-940 Time-of-Flight Camera module, users may encounter several common issues. Here are some potential causes and their corresponding solutions:

  • Failure to power on the device: Check the power connection to ensure the device is operating properly. If it is an internal device failure, contact the supplier for repair.
  • Monitoring computer connection issues: Check the device connection and reconfigure the communication configuration. If the problem persists, contact the supplier for repair.
  • Abnormal depth images: It may be caused by environmental light, device settings, or data processing issues. Please adjust the device settings or process the data. If the problem persists, contact the supplier for a solution.
  • Reducing the measurement range: If the maximum distance measurement range is less than the nominal value, use the recommended 12V/3A adapter to supplement the power to overcome potential USB driver limitations on some PCs or platforms.

Maintenance #

To keep the equipment running smoothly and reliably, it is advised to perform regular maintenance and repair tasks:

  • Clean the equipment surface: use a clean cloth and non-corrosive cleaner to wipe the equipment surface to remove dust and dirt.
